The Sicilian Olive Festival, a fraternal event, was founded by Peter Sorge. Peter was fondly called “Sauce” by family and friends. Sauce was unforgettable. He was larger than life…and surely the life of every party. His genuine smile and love for friends and family served him well. Sauce was a giver. Generosity was among Peter’s greatest virtues. He was happiest when he did something good for others.
Sauce first organized the Olive Fest in 1998 with a handful of friends and family to foster a sense of brotherhood and community while raising money for a good cause. Peter’s passion for laughter was contagious. Everyone works at the Olive Festival, enjoying delicious Italian food, good cheer, and many laughs among friends. Those who attend the Olive Festival have to share that passion for life.
The Olive Fest, a gentleman-only event, is now in the good hands of Peter’s son, Frank, and a small committee of people who honor the tradition with love and passion, while creating proceeds to the benefit of to a worthy cause.
